So, I was looking to see how old Hawke was (25-32) and Wiki told me, DA2 is over the course of ten years. But, the game clearly tells us, act 3 is on year seven, along with Merrill who talks about her holes in her roof not being patched up after 6 years. I wonder why they got it mixed up with the start of Inquisition? Since that starts 3 years after the battle for Kirkwall.

Merrill came to the Kirkwall Alienage after Hawke's year working off the indentured service so she only spent six years in Kirkwall. So the timeline is correct. Act 3 is year 7, which in 9:37 Dragon.
Although Bioware does tend to play with the facts of the timeline to suit the story. There have been many discrepancies.
