I decided I wanted a nice golden armor set for my characters, specifically, my tank. This uses the Gold model normally only available to King Cailan. I did not want this armor set to be overly powerful, but it does have some pretty strong stats on it.

Each armor piece has a short quite from Cailan embedded in the description.

King Cailan's Plate Armor
21.88 Armor
27.30% Fatigue
+5 Constitution

King Cailan's Plate Boots
3.75 Armor
3.90% Fatigue
+3 Dexterity
+1 Constitution
+10% Chance to dodge attacks
+1.5 Stamina regeneration in combat

Set bonus: +5 Constitution and +10 Defense

• Modified the armor tier used by this armor. It now uses proper armor and fatigue values compared to Dragonbone armor while still retaining the "Gold" tier look.

Install:

*****IMPORTANT NOTE FOR USERS WHO HAVE NOT PATCHED TO 1.01*****

When upgrading from and older version of this addon, it is important that you unequip all pieces of this armor set before installing it. Failure to do so can cause permenant increases stats, especially armor and fatigue, which can be gamebreaking.

*****READ ABOVE BEFORE PROCEEDING*****

• If upgrading from an older version of this addon, proceed to step 2, otherwise proceed to step 8.
• Load your save game, and unequip all pieces of this armor set.
• Save your game, and return to the main menu. If you do not remove armor before updating the addon, you may have irreversible damage to your character's stats, most notably armor value and fatigue.
• From the Main Menu, go to "Downloadable Content"
• Go to the "Installed Content" tab and disable "King Cailan's Armor"
• Load your saved game and when asked, choose "Force Load"
• Once in game, save your game again. This is necessary to clear flags stored in your saved game to allow the updated version of the armor to appear in your inventory. Proceed to step 8 to install.
• Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age\bin_ship\
• Run daupdater.exe
• Choose "Select DAZIPs" then navigate to where you downloaded the file to and choose it
• Select it in the updater window, then click "Install Selected"
• Start Dragon Age: Origins, choose Downloadable Content, Installed Content, and make sure "King Cailan's Armor" is checked
• Items will appear in your inventory on your next load
  

Uninstall:

• Delete the "add_cailans_armor" folder in "..\Documents\Bioware\AddIns\" folder
  

Known Issues:

When creating a new save, the items will not immediately be added to the inventory, as this does not count as "loading" a save. To work around this, simply save and load after gaining control of your character.
