Dragon Age: Origins

=================
Description:
=================

Adds the unique longbow Far Song to the upgraded inventory of Redcliffe Village's blacksmith, Owen.

=================
Details:
=================

In vanilla DA:O, the powerful longbow Far song is only available to players who kill poor sad Owen (either directly or by not rescuing his daughter); the bow is then sold by Owen's replacement, (not) intriguingly named 'Blacksmith'.

Since I am not about to doom a sweet drunken old coot just to obtain one of the few decent bows in the game, I've long used hdhd's mod Far Song for Owen to add Far Song to Owen's upgraded inventory, after Lost in the Castle has been successfully resolved. Unfortunately, that mod has always been problematic for me, with the delivery script adding multiple iterations of the weapon to the merchant over the course of the game.

While I originally I took the approach of simply adding the bow to Owen's upgraded, post-Lost in the Castle inventory, that was always an imperfect solution (as it would preclude using other mods that alter Owen's second store). In this improved version, the bow is added via a proper script, and thus should not interfere with other mods. As with the simple store edit, the bow will not appear in his initial inventory, and once purchased, should not restock.

I've also included an optional revision of the Far Song UTI file, which changes the material progression of the bow from a fixed T7 Dragonthorn, to a minimum tier of T4 Whitewood, which can be scaled to T7 in the usual ways. The UTI is not required for the mod to function, and if the material edit is not desired (or another solution is preferred), that file can be omitted.

=================
Installation:
=================

Add the tsm_far_song_owen folder to your override. (If the material/tiering changes are not wanted, omit the gen_im_wep_rng_lbw_fsn.uti file.)

=================
Un-Installation:
=================

Delete the tsm_far_song_owen folder. (Doing so should not remove the bow from the party inventory, if it has already been purchased from Owen.)

=================
Known Issues:
=================

Should probably not be run concurrently with hdhd's mod. And apart from that, none known.

As usual, while I have tested as thoroughly as I am able, the mod has not been tested by anyone other than me.

A debt of thanks to hdhd for Far Song for Owen and for inspiring me to think, if not exactly outside the box, at least about a different box.

Thanks to InsanitySorrow for his ReadMe Generator this file is based on.

And of course, thank you to Bioware for all things Dragon Age.
