01. What & Why

Quite recently I got a new computer since the old one was virtually dead -no pun intended. I reinstalled most of my games, DA:O being one of them.
So I revisited the Nexus sites to (re-)download my favourite mods, the Selectable Morrigan Face being one of them.

I did notice however that her make-up was different than the actual in-game Morrigan; I believe that is due to how the Character Generator functions.

So I read up on the internet on how to extract MOR files; and I extracted Morrigan's actual face file.

Using the DragonAge Face Replacer -I use the 208 version- by NewByPower [http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/428/?] (works for me with Python 2.6.0), I replaced my Human Noble's face with Morrigan's MOR file.

You can also use the DragonAge Face Replacer to transplant Elinor's face [i.e. Morrigan's face] onto your Human Noble Female Warrior Origin Character and / or the Human Female Mage Origin Character. [REDUNDANT: Scroll down a bit to EDIT of 19-04-2017]

The 208 version of the DragonAge Face Replacer is fairly self-explanatory in usage once you start it up.

Best avoid using autosaves or quicksaves with it though.

If you're using the 208 version of the DragonAge Face Replacer, you actually don't need my savegame; you can access Morrigan's MOR file using the DA Face Replacer "Open Resource" option. Click on the "Open Resource" and browse your Dragon Age Origins installation directory [NOT the My Documents folders] and locate the "Face.erf" file in your "\packages\core\data" folder.

As an example: I have DAO installed on my D: drive; D:\Dragon Age\
The location of the Face.erf file should then be at: D:\Dragon Age\packages\core\data\

Open the Face.erf file and type the following in the 'Filter' box of the Face Replacer application: hf_genfl_morrigan.mor

Highlight the correct file in the box below the 'Filter' with your mouse and select 'Set as Source'.

Then choose 'Open Savegame' and locate the savegame of your human female [Mage or Human Noble].
Select the save game [nameofsave.das] that you wish to replace.
Click on 'Set as Destination'
Click on 'Copy selection to Destination file'
Click on 'SAVE DESTINATION FILE'

Start your game and load the correct [altered] savegame.

This savegame was made right after the initial conversation with Bryce Cousland, Arl Howe and Duncan. My character -Elinor, named after her mother-
answered their questions as follows:

Option 2) And you, Arl Howe.
Option 3) Thomas is a few years younger than I am.
Option 3) What? Why can't I go into battle with you and Fergus?
Option 1) Let me talk to her. I'll convince her.
Option 2) They defeated the darkspawn long ago.
Option 2) Is there a reason I shouldn't join them?
Option 1) Of course.
Option 4) But I'm not done talking to you, yet.

Her starting Stats:

Strength      : 12
Dexterity     : 16
Willpower    : 12
Magic           : 11
Cunning       : 16
Constitution : 12

Talents: Deft Hands Tier 1
Dual Weapons: Tier 1
Skill: Combat Training Tier 2

Images in Gallery: Image with Bryce Cousland a.o. features the selectable morrigan face, as does the small image. The other 2 images show Morrigan's face as it was imported from her MOR file.

02. Installation

01. Download the Archive
02. Extract the Archive using a utility like WinRar, WinZip, or 7-zip [the latter is for free]
03. Copy the Elinor folder to your X:\Documents\My Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\Characters\ folder [depends on your OS, so you might actually have a X:\Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\Characters\ folder instead]
04. Play the game, if need be Switch Character and load the savegame called "Start" [the autosave contains the face of the Selectable Morrigan Face]

- selectable morrigan face by Luisen; not sure whether this is mandatory.

- EP's, Promotional Mods, Rewards Mods and Third Party Mods I have installed, but deactivated all before starting this new game, so you should not need them; I'll list them all the same, to be sure, at the bottom of the Long Description.

- Delete the Elinor Character in-game; poof! And you're done.
