What This Mod Is
This mod is a bunch of dialogue and audio edits that remove instances where Dalish elves refer to city elves as "flat-ears" and instances where city elves refer to Dalish elves as "savages".
My goal was to edit the dialogue and audio so that they still flowed naturally and it didn't sound edited. I made this for a friend and decided to post it here in case anyone else would like it.
Installation
Download and unzip the file and place the "More Elven Solidarity" folder into your "/Dragona Age/packages/core/override" folder.
Conflicts
Any mods that you have that edit any of the following files will conflict with this mod:
Just going into your override folder and putting these into the search bar will tell you if any of your mods are changing them. If my mod conflicts with any important mods for you, let me know and I can make a patch.
Changes
This is an in depth look of all the changes I made in this mod and my reasons for handling them the way I did. Only for those who are curious.
Changed lines:
Context:
Both these lines can be said by Mithra, when she confronts a city elf Warden over why their trespassing the camp. The first line is Mithra's response if the Warden asks to take advantage of her clan's hospitality. The second is her response to "Is this how you treat one of you're own?"
Edits:
I shortened the first line to "We are in no position to offer hospitality right now. Unless you've other business, I suggest you go."
I replaced the second line with "You may be elven, but I do not know you. Identify your purpose or go." Which is a slightly edited version of a what she says to a city elf that demands to see the Keeper.
Changed lines:
Context:
This is how Junar, a member of a Dalish Warden's clan, introduces Pol, a city elf who recently arrived to the camp.
Edits:
I deleted this line and replaced it with the option for the PC to ask Pol: "You're not Dalish, are you?". The way this works is that, normally, when the Warden first speaks to Pol, they have three different possible questions they can ask, two of which lead to Junar introducing Pol as a flat-ear. "You're not Dalish, are you?" is the only one that doesn't.
Changed lines:
Context:
A Dalish Warden and Tamlen can speak to each other while they're in the ruins and one possible thing that Tamlen can ask the Warden is why they're hanging out with them, assuming they have other responsibilities. If the Warden says that they'll take any opportunity to leave the camp, Tamlen will respond with the above line.
Edits:
I shortened this line to "I've never known anyone so eager to wander."
Changed lines:
Context:
Paivel is an elder in a Dalish Warden's clan, and will share what he knows of the Dalish's lore and history to a curious Warden who asks.
The first line is how he responds when asked "What happened to the elves who didn't join the Dalish?". and the last two follow one after the other if asked "Do you think we'll ever find another homeland?"
Edits:
I shortened the first line to "They remain in human cities, forgetting all they once had."
The last two lines were some of the trickiest to deal with because, while I was able to remove flat-ear from both of them, I wasn't able to replace them with new words without them sounding edited. And just removing flat-ear left both lines with unclear subjects.
What I ended up doing was shorten the second line to "We can hope to find a new home one day, and build a land greater even than Arlathan." and shorten the third line to "We shall teach the lore they lost... and perhaps they will teach us to understand the shemlen at last. That is the only way we shall truly live in peace." But instead of having them follow one after another, Paivel will only say the third line if the Warden asks him "What about the elves who live in cities?", which is a brand new option I wrote that only appears after Paivel says the second line and if the Warden already asked "What happened to the elves who didn't join the Dalish?" at some point.

Context:
Gheyna is a Dalish elf whose a member of Zathrian's clan. The Warden can ask her questions about Zathrian or the Dalish in general.
The first line appears if the Warden asks what a Keepers role is. She'll say that they're supposed to keep Dalish history and lore safe so that they can share it with all their people one day. If the Warden asks "Bring it to all of your people?", she'll respond with the above line.
The last two lines are her possible responses if the Warden asks why Zathrian has lived so long compared others, depending on whether the Warden is Dalish or not.
Edits:
I shortened the first line to "Those who live with the humans. When we have a new homeland to settle in, we shall teach all elves the ways they have forgotten.""
The last two lines I ended up having to delete, as there was no way I could even remove "flat-ear" from either of them without them sounding edited, let alone adding in new material. Now, if the Warden asks "But how could that be? Why him and not others?" (referring to Zathrian's longevity), Gheyna will respond with "Why Zathrian differs from others, I do not know. Perhaps he has been blessed by the Creators." which is what normally follows both of those deleted lines anyway.
Changed lines:
Context:
Alarith is the shop keeper in the Denerim alienage. Both these lines appear if a guy warden talks to him after his fiance got kidnapped (so before he goes to the palace to rescue her) and asks him about his encounter with the Dalish.
Both lines are Alarith's response to Warden saying "Imagine living free like that..."
Edits:
I combined these two lines into "Don't harbor any romantic images about the Dalish. Everything worth fighting for is right here."
Changed lines:
Context:
Taeodor is a city elf that the Warden and Soris can speak to in the Alienage. He'll tell Soris that his brothers have run off to join the Dalish. There's some controversy within the Alienage over whether the Dalish are a myth, and the Warden can say that they see no reason why they couldn't exist, which Taoedor responds with the above line.
Edits:
I shortened the line to just "Neither do I."
I originally considered keeping "I worry about my brothers' safety." in but it transitioned weirdly without having Taeodor describe the Dalish as savages as a clear indicator for why he's worried. Soris will reassure Taeodor of his brothers' safety after this line and in another line where Taeodor doesn't voice his worry at all, So I decided that this line didn't need to have him directly voice his worry either.
Changed lines:
Context:
Soris is a city elf Warden's cousin.
If the Warden isn't enthusiastic about getting married, they can ask Soris if running away is an option. Soris will think the idea is ridiculous and mockingly ask if they're considering joining the Dalish. If the Warden answers with "It could happen...", Soris will sarcastically respond with the above line.
Edits:
I deleted this line and now Soris will just respond with the line that would come afterwards: "Hmm. Not that we'd know where to find them. Besides, why would you run?".
I originally tried editing this line but everything I tried either sounded edited or didn't carrying the mocking tone it's supposed to have.

Changed lines:

Context:
