Credits
====================

  • My sincere thanks to XTR3M368, Niire, and Setiweb for their dilligent testing. They put up with and caught bugs that others wouldn't have.
  • XTR3M368 and DarkeWolf for the idea.
  • Bourzan for all of his hard work helping me get my scripts to work correctly.
  • Electionis for allowing the use of his blade textures. They are from his Jedi Lightsabers with Sound mod for Obilvion.
  • Everyone who downloads and enjoys this mod!

Things to Know
====================

  • BEFORE installing, open any save games in which you were using an older version of the mod, deactivate all lightsaber abilities, and destroy the sabers you have in your inventory. Save your game after doing so. NOT doing this will cause undesired effects.

====================
Known Issues
====================

  • This mod is NOT compatible with the GTA Rules Fixpack. I'm currently awaiting permission from the author to make the two mods compatible. There may be other mods it conflicts with, though my testers haven't discovered anything, and they use A LOT of mods.
  • If you pause the game while your character is performing an exceptionally quick weapon movement, it may appear that the saber blades don't align with the hilt. This is not noticeable unless you pause the game and is minimal at that. It is a limitation of the engine's particle effects system, as far as I can tell.
  • Sabers may appear to ghost a very small amount if your game runs under 10 frames per second (this is very choppy!). I've not noticed anything myself and you most likely won't either.
  • Blades may "flicker" when viewing them point-on. This is caused by the visual effects particles rapidly changing angles to align with the view.
  • One-handed style only works with warriors. This isn't a big deal since they're the only ones who need to worry about shield abilities. I'll be modifying this in the future.

How to Use this Mod
====================

  • Upon starting a new game or loading an existing save, you will receive an item called "build lightsaber." "Use" it from your inventory screen or drag it onto your quick bar and click it to initiate the build dialog.
  • To build a lightsaber, follow the dialog options at the bottom of your screen. You can currently choose your hilt, hilt color, and blade color. If you'd like to build more than one, select "build another" once you've selected your hilt and crystal.
  • If you would like to wield only one lightsaber at a time, select the "learn one-handed style" option. This will add an "open hand" to your inventory that you can equip to your shield slot. It will allow you to use sword-and-shield talents while only one lightsaber is equipped.
  • When you are finished, select "install crystals" to proceed. This will open up the enchantment screen.
  • Put a lightsaber crystal in the rune slot of each of the hilts you chose, otherwise you will be unable to equip them. The stat bonuses for each crystal are different and you can review them from the mouseover tooltip.
  • Close the enchantment screen, equip your lightsaber, and start hacking!

Installing
====================

  • UnRAR the file with a program like WinRAR or 7zip.
  • Run daupdater.exe (located in your "C:\...\Dragon Age\bin_ship\" directory) and select "raptures_lightsabers_.dazip" to install. Alternately, you can use DAO Mod Manager (recommended).
  • Check if the installation was successful by running the game and clicking on "Downloadable Content," then by clicking the "Installed Content" tab at the top. You should see "Raptures Lightsabers" in the list with a check mark next to it.
  • You are now "go" for launch.

====================
Uninstalling
====================

  • From the title menu, select "Downloadable Content" then click the "Installed Content" tab. Uncheck the box next to "Raptures Lightsabers" to disable it. Alternately, you can use DAO Mod Manager (recommended).
