Losing Tamlen was a life changing event for her; destined to be bonded in the near future, her life now seems empty and lost. When the Keeper agreed to entrust Maighdlin into the care of the Grey Wardens, my little Dalish Elf felt devastated -but at the same time, she'd felt she had let down both Tamlen and her clan and that this separation from her clan was an appropriate punishment for her failure. With a heavy heart she accepted her new duty as a Grey Warden.
Silent and sullen, she does fraternize with any of the companions who join up; she dos not want to grow close again to anyone, lest they'd be taken away as well, compounding the gnawing pain over Tamlen's apparent death.
When finally confronted with the horrible truth about Tamlen's fate, she just breaks down completely and nothing in this world will ever be able to heal her hurt and broken heart.

When Riordan unfolds the facts on how the Blight can only be ended, she is quick to embrace the ultimate fulfillment of her destiny. Her death will be a feeble attempt at atonement, as well as an end to the suffering and anguish she's carried with her since she was struck down with the Blight disease.
Hopefully her final action may redeem her in the eyes of the Creators, allowing her to be reunited with Tamlen in the Beyond.
