About this image

I think I got it this time and I chose a better area to show the contrast.  It's one of the less torched up rooms. lol  Anyway, keep or go a tiny bit darker?

Thanks, but sadly if you're playing it during the day, you can't see anything on the screen. At night it looks great. But it's got be playable at all hours of the day or night so I had to go back to the brighter settings.

Maybe bring up the contrast and add a blue wash?

Much better! You do need it light enough to play it, very frustrating to not be able to see what you're doing in a level, unless that's the point.

I don't think the overall light level matters as much for realism as making sure there are shadows and a big contrast between the light and shadow. I haven't gotten into how to do lighting yet, so I don't know how to do what I mean but have the area right around the torch bright and the corners dark and the overall light level whatever it needs to be to see the level. Just a couple of each will make a big difference to the 'feel' of the level.

Well darn. It looks better, more dungeon-y really dark like this WHEN you play at night. If it's daylight outside and your house has lots of windows like mine, it is virtually unplayable. The only way you can navigate in it is to constantly bring up the map....Which is sad. I built it. I should be able to play it with my eyes closed. Lol sooo whether I like it or not, I'm gonna have to go a little brighter. Sigh.

In DAO you cannot equip a torch. So, keeping the lighting playable is better than going for realism. Unless, there's a torch mod.

Yep. It's funny that a deep stalker and spider can open a door, but the warden can't carry a torch. Lol
