More light settings....so dungeons are supposed to be dark.  Is this too dark or too bright?  On another note....Playing this quest was the first time I've ever gotten lost in a level I built. lol

Again, this is just my opinion, but the big thing in a dungeon is the shadows. There is no ambient lighting or reflected light in a dungeon. So, if there isn't a light source it is pitch dark and the contrast between the light and dark areas and the deepness of the shadows, i.e. the dark corners that you can't see into, is what makes a dungeon creepy.

It should be the opposite of the moonlight, which is soft and the lighting is muted with little difference between the light and shadow. The overall lighting should be enough so that the player can see what they are doing but and it can even be relatively light overall but there should be a source for all the lighting and big contrasts between the 'lighted' rooms and the 'non-lighted' rooms. Like in the pic the area by the torch is the same as the area without a torch. Again just my opinion.

And I value your opinion! I am very picky on my levels and I want them to look decent and as realistic as possible. I used the same tile set used in Arl Howel's dungeon level and tried it with the original's light settings, but they were way too bright. So I've been tweaking them, but still can't seem to get it as dark as it should be. I am the same way about obvious lighting too. You won't find a well lit room in a level of mine that doesn't at least have a candle in it. lol I think this particular pic though wasn't the best example of the level to share. You can't see it because of the angle I captured it, but there are two other torches in the room and another not far from the one you can see in the hallway. Still, I agree with you. It is a little too bright for a dungeon. Not all of my rooms in the level are as well lit as this one, but this room was populated with a handful of thugs, three of them playing cards. So, it's kind of reasonable to assume they'd have it more well lit than the others. Still, tho....even the areas that should be considerably darker, aren't much darker. Grrr...lol I'll keep tweaking away though until I have it right. lol
