Johann is Kahlan's older brother. He was sent to the Circle with Kahlan, and since this moment, he hated the place. The years passed by, and he learned a lot about magic. Enough to find a way to escape the tower. He was chased by the Templars, however he found a way to hide himself in the Korcari Wilds. There he turned to the blood magic, to have more power. Johann thinks that the only way he can survive as an apostate and eventually conquer his freedom is have more power and learn more about magic. Also, he is fascinated by the traditions of magic he has not learned during his years in the Circle. When he was a child, he hated his magic, because he thought that it could be a curse, that could take him away from his home and family. But he learned how to control magic and how to see it as a part of himself.
He survived in the Wilds and that made him strong. But he could not live in the Wilds forever and alone, he actually discovered that his little sister became a Grey Warden and discovered that she was one of the survivors of Ostagar. Since then, he tried to follow her steps with the promise that he made by himself in the shadows. That one day he would return to her to give her the freedom she deserves. Because she is the only thing he had. But it seems he failed. He knew why. He let the bitterness consume his heart, and that was the only way he knew.


I wish I could describe something more elaborate, but I don't have so much time for now. Also, I change Johann's appearance again and now I think I like the result.
