The main color can also be overlayed with a pattern instead of the edges.

I always thought that dress would make a nice royal wedding dress, something in white and gold and/or silver... have to get rid of the scroll... but something to think about.
I second Kajana on the white and gold/silver combo.
There is a way to remove the scroll without altering the meshes but I would have to explain in PM with some screenshots to show you how.
And yes I would like to learn Skara if you are willing to teach.
I downloaded photoshop and installed those plug ins I needed, so I'm ready to go into the other maps and such. ;-)
About the scroll:
You might can get strange "effects" depending on the light if you haven't edit the mesh. I have that problem with some hairstyles and their edited alpha map and in some areas of the game you can see the "original" look of the hair.
