I'm just as confused as you are. I like my men manly. You know, facial and chest hair, cutting wood with an axe in the mountains. All those cliches are for me. I have no interest in a man who worries about his hair more than I do and I worry about my hair A LOT. Which is probably why I always romance Alistair and think of Zevran as my gay best friend.
Whenever I think of an elf (male or female) I always think of the phrase "fair folk". Even in the DA novels elves are always described to have an almost unearthly beauty. An alien beauty due to the eyes, but a beauty none-the-less. Male elves can't grow beards (even though they previewed in DA:I them growing some stubble *shrug*) so sometimes I try to cut a bit into the "perfect" features with a scar or tattoo.
Which is why I make elves (male or female) fair and almost feminine in appearance. Whereas human males are always more rugged
The same question could be asked "why do many lesbians prefer more masculine girls?". I don't know about you but I have two lesbian couples as close friends, in both relationships, one girl wears short hair, men's clothes and cologne and the other has long hair, wears women's clothes and makeup. None of us straight or gay people make sense! Lol we just all like who we like and can't always explain why. I myself am straight and like rugged men and clean cut pretty boys. It all just depends on the guy lol. But anyway...love the Zev Draco! I think he's gorgeous and fair and still masculine enough in his own way. ;-)
Me and my girlfriend are both very feminine. Makeup, long hair, etc.
Anyways he does look good, I'm not trying to say otherwise, and it was an honest question, wasn't trying to say you were wrong in how you feel or anything.

I'm a lesbian so I don't really understand.. why do so many straight women want their men to look like women?
No offense intended, completely honest question.
