Mike Blackney's Cranial Ember and puKKa's Improved Face Texture are the two most popular character texture mods on the DS nexus. Andre's Cranial Ember contains body textures to compliment the face textures, so you can't use both at the same time or there will be a seam at the neck where the textures meet. I made a .dds file overlaying parts of Improved Face Texture with Cranial Ember. This is just one possible way of doing it, I am sure there is a better way, but for now I expect that someday someone will throw a bunch of mods at their Dark Souls and then come looking for answers, so here's a quick fix now so you don't have to choose.
I did not make either of these textures. This is a compatibility fix and nothing more. Please visit the respective file pages for endorsement purposes.
There's only one file. If you're already using either of the above, you know how where to put it.
2019.2.18: I guess this ended up being the only solution for this particular conflict on the Nexus, and I feel a little bad that there isn't work available by a more talented modder. Anyway, I added some more reference pictures.
This mod results in a look that's different from either of the constituent textures. If you make a character with one mod installed, it will not look the same with another mod installed.
I like both textures by themselves. I'm still undecided about whether the Improved Face Texture makeup works together with the body tone from Cranial Ember. Which you prefer is your choice.
