HD summon and message signs with a painterly look.  (WIP - currently only orange message signs and white/gold summon signs.)

I got tired of the vanilla soapstone/covenant signs being so low res, but wasn't particularly thrilled with the existing high res options that completely change the look, so I decided to do something about it.  I upped the resolution of the vanilla files, then traced over both the symbols and the glow layer with my tablet pen.  The result looks much sharper than the vanilla textures, while still retaining the lore-friendly design.

While this currently only contains the Orange Soapstone message signs and the White Soapstone summon signs (tested to also work with the gold Warrior of Sunlight sign), I am planning to add the Gravelord sign (and the Path of the Dragon sign, if I can find the right texture file).  I'm also planning to eventually port these to DS2 and DS3.

Installation Instructions:

  • Requires DSfix.  You can get it here.
  • In DSfix.ini (should be located in your Dark Souls DATA folder), ensure that you have enabled texture override.  (If this is set correctly, there will be a line that reads "enableTextureOverride 1" in the file.)
  • Unzip the HD Painted Soapstone Signs.zip file.
  • Copy and paste the contained .png images into the DSfix tex_override folder.
