About this mod

This is not your average everyday darkness, this is... Advanced Darkness. Adds a 4th mode: Advanced Darkness.

Permissions and credits
Adds a new mode to the game: Advanced Darkness.  Changes have been made to Heroes, Monsters, Skills, Abilities, Loot, Inventory, Buildings, Upgrades, and Game Play.  More to come!

Installation:  Unzip, copy, and paste into your Darkest Dungeon folder.  Go into the localization folder and run the localization.bat (Windows Batch File), the mode text will then populate.  Start the game and create a new game to access the Advanced Darkness mode.  The mod will not affect other modes or your other save files.  To see any differences you must create a new game and select the Advanced Darkness mode.


CAMPAIGN
  • The Transcendent Terror will be on the Old Road.
  • Never Again is turned off by default.

GENERAL
  • Level faster. XP to level has been reduced. Resolve Level Thresholds: 2/6/12/20/30/42 (Normal: 2/8/14/24/36/48).
  • Protection Damage related to moves that deal damage to armor, lasts entire combat round for monsters, lasts the entire quest for heroes.
  • Stun now has -100 Dodge for 1 round.  A target that is stunned cannot dodge*.
  • Nomad Wagon: start with 4 spaces unlocked.
  • Loot values and stack limits changed.
  • Light bonus for Curio Loot changed, now more light = more chance for bonus loot from Curios.
  • Camping Skills:  Hero specific skills cost double than standard camping skills.
  • Provision Prices and Order Changed:
    • Provision - 75
    • Torch - 75
    • Dog Treats - 75
    • Antivenom - 150
    • Bandage - 150
    • Holy Water - 225
    • Medicinal Herbs - 225
    • Skeleton Key - 300
    • Shovel - 300
    • Firewood - 750: must now be purchased.

MONSTERS
  • Some skills have been changed
  • Single Stress attacks may now Push 1.
  • Party Stress attacks may now Shuffle Party.
  • Slash attacks may cause Bleed.
  • Some attacks may now Push 1.
  • Some attacks may now Shuffle Party.
  • Monsters Prot changed, now based off of art armor.

HEROES
  • Heroes have Protection based on Armor.
  • All heroes have starting items.
  • Upgrade weapon and armor costs differ on classes.  Example: Grave Robbers are cheaper to upgrade than Crusaders.  This makes certain classes cheaper to hire and use, making it more viable* to use said classes.
  • Certain skills more viable*.

Abomination
Prot: 3%-15%

Antiquarian
Prot: 1%-5%

  • Nervous Stab: Bleed, Crit +, Accuracy -, Forward 1.
  • Flashpowder: Stun.
  • Fortifying Vapours: Heal 1-4 hp, Stacking Heal.

Arbalest
Prot: 4%-20%
Starting Item: Bandage
Upgrade Cost: $

  • Sniper Shot: Prot Damage
  • Suppressing Fire: All ranks.
  • Sniper's Mark: Dodge Damage.
  • Bola: no push, speed damage, dodge damage, stun.

Bounty Hunter
Prot: 4%-20%
Starting Item: Shovel
Upgrade Cost: $$$$
  • Collect Bounty: Prot Damage.
  • Mark for Death: No Prot Damage, Dodge Damage.
  • Flashbang: Accuracy Damage.
  • Finish Him: Front 2 ranks only, Weak Prot Damage.
  • Uppercut, Hook and Slice, Come Hither: damage +.
 
Crusader
Prot: 5%-25%

Extra: Added Riposte
  • Smite: Weak Prot Damage, forward 1.
  • Stunning Blow: Back 1, Push 1.
  • Holy Lance: Strong Prot Dam, Forward 3.
  • Bulwark of Faith: Prot + 11,12,13,14,15%, Mark Self.
  • Zealous Accusation: Man Killer.
  • Battle Heal: 1-6 HP, Cure.
  • Inspiring Cry: Team Heal 1-4 HP, Stress Heal Chance 4.
  • Riposte: Zealous Accusation (front 2 ranks, single target, front 2 enemy ranks.)

Grave Robber
Prot: 1%-5%
Starting Item: Shovel
Upgrade Cost: $

  • Pick to the Face: Front 2 ranks only, Strong Prot Damage.
  • Poisoned Dart: Damage +, Crit +.

Hellion
Prot: 3-15%
Starting Item: Medicinal Herb
Upgrade Cost: $$

  • Wicked Hack: Weak Prot Damage, forward 1.
  • Iron Swan: Weak Prot Damage, Used by front 2 ranks, Back 1.
  • If it Bleeds: Bleed Killer.
  • Exhaust - from 3 to 2 turns.

Highwayman
Prot: 2-10%
Starting Item: Skeleton Key

  • Wicked Slice: Bleed Killer.
  • Removed Riposte

Houndmaster
Prot: 3-15%
Starting Item: Dog Treat
Upgrade Cost: $$
  • Whistle: No Prot Damage, Dodge Damage.
  • Blackjack:  + Damage, Weak Prot Damage.

Jester
Prot: 1%-5%
Starting Item: Antivenom

  • Harvest: Bleed Killer.

Leper

Prot: 5%-25%
Starting Item: Bandage

Extra: Added Riposte.
  • Chop: +Crit
  • Hew: Moves forward 2, + Crit.
  • Purge: + Mark Target, and Stun.
  • Intimidate: Intimidate, Push, Mark Self, and activate Riposte.

Man At Arms
Prot: 5%-25%
Starting Item: Bandage
Upgrade Cost: $$$$$
  • Crush: Prot Damage.
  • Bolster: Sress Heal.
  • Riposte: Weak Prot Damage.

Occultist
Prot: 2-10%
Starting Item: Medicinal Herb
Upgrade Cost: $$
Extra: Stress chance added when using abilities for flavor. Increased abilities damage.

  • Sacrifical Stab: Eldritch Killer, Minor Bleed.
  • Abyssal Artillery: Shuffle back row, damage increased, 66% chance to stress Occultist.
  • Wyrd Reconstruction: Never 0, heals at least 1 hp.  66% chance to stress the recipient.
  • Hands from Abyss: Now usable from all ranks.  Targets all enemy ranks, removes corpses, 66% chance to stress Occultist.
  • Daemon's Pull: No longer Removes Corpses, added Stun, pulls enemy forward, 66% chance to stress Occultist.
  • Weakening Curse: - Damage, Occultist Self Stress Heal.
  • Vulnerability Hex: - Dodge, Mark Target, Occultist Self Stress Heal.


Plague Doctor
Prot: 2%-10%
Starting Item: Antivenom
Upgrade Cost: $$

  • Noxious Blast: Speed Damage, + damage.
  • Plague Grenade: Speed Damage, + damage.
  • Blinding Gas: Accuracy Damage.

Vestal

Prot: 4%-20%
Starting Item: Holy Water
Upgrade Cost: $$

  • Mace Bash: Prot Damage, Unholy Killer added.
  • Judgement: Man Killer added.
  • Dazzling Light: Unholy Killer added.  Behaves as Dazzling Light and Hand of Light combined.
  • Illumination: All ranks, Clear all corpses, and a possible stun.
  • Hand of Light: Now a Self Buff, + Damage, + Acc, + Light, and stress heal chance.

KNOWN ISSUES
  • Herbs repair armor...
  • Stun and Dodge trigger separately.

  • Changed Occultist stress on his skills.
  • Changed Skill Upgrade costs.  Now 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 (Normal: 1000, 250, 750, 1250, 2500).
  • Fixed Vestal's level 4 Dazzling Light bug, found by Insufferable Smartypants.
  • Adjusted several other things.
  • Moved Mode effects over to Base effects.
  • Changed some icons.
