About this mod

This is a mod that tweaks various aspects of the game to re-balance it.

Currently I believe this mod makes the game a bit easier than the vanilla version, however I think I did a good job on balancing the adjustments I made to keep the game fairly difficult and still enjoyable.

Permissions and credits
This is a mod that tweaks various aspects of the game to re-balance it. This mod is a very small overhaul that simply re-balances a few things such as hero combat abilities without affecting the actual game-play/difficulty much.

Update log:


Short "TLDR" list of changes:

  • Various hero combat abilities buffed/changed/nerfed.


  • Retreating missions has slightly more consequence.


  • Higher level heroes can do lower level missions.


  • Item/Gold/Heirloom stack sizes changed (mostly increased).


  • Light affecting abilities (ie torch increase/decrease) removed from ALL combat abilities.




Here's the full list of changes this mod has to offer:

Campaign folder:
  • Increased stress damage to 40 from 20 on retreat. 
  • Reduced kept gold on mission retreat to 75% from 100%.
  • (this adds a little more consequence to giving up on quests)


  • Changed so level 3s can go on level 1 quests, also level 5s can go on level 3 quests. 
  • (this is to reduce grind)


  • Increased passive stress healing in town to 10 from 5.
  • (this is to make early game a bit easier and reduce gold required by a little)



Heroes folder:
  • Removed torch light increase/decrease from ALL abilities.
Arbalest:
  • Armor: dodge changed to 5/5/5/5/10 at respective levels from 5+5 per rank, PROT
  • increased to 0/2.5/5/7.5/10 from 0 at all ranks.

  • Sniper Shot: increased damage to 140% from 100%, increased crit +1% at all ranks, 
  • valid enemy targets changed to 1,2,3,4, from 2,3,4, added hellion debuff.
  • (hellion debuff = -20% dmg, -15 dodge 3 rds. Changed to make it a real snipe)

  • Sniper Mark: valid enemy targets changed to 1,2,3,4 from 2,3,4

  • Blindfire: valid enemy targets changed to 1,2,3 from 1,2,3,4
  • (changed so slightly more viable with corpses enabled)

Bounty Hunter:

  • Armor: dodge changed to 5/5/5/5/10 at respective levels from 5+5 per rank, PROT
  • increased to 0/2.5/5/7.5/10 from 0 at all ranks.

  • Collect Bounty: valid usage/target locations changed to 1,2 and 1,2,3 respectively from 1,2,3 and 1,2.
  • Uppercut: dmg reduced to -80% from -67%, valid usage pos changed to 1,2,3 from 1,2 added move forward 1
  • Finish Him: valid usage pos changed to 1,2 from 1,2,3
Crusader:

  • Armor: dodge changed to 5/5/5/5/10 at respective levels from 5+5 per rank, PROT
  • increased to 0/2.5/5/7.5/10 from 0 at all ranks.

  • Holy Lance: dmg -10% from 0%, valid enemy targets: 2,3,4 from 3,4.

  • Inspiring Cry: Heal increased slightly at various ranks for more hero diversity.

Grave Robber:

  • Shadow Fade: dmg increased to 20% from 0%

  • Poison Dart: valid usage/target locations changed to 2,3,4 and 2,3,4 respectively.
  • accuracy decreased -5 at all ranks (this spell now matches thrown dagger)

Hellion:

  • Armor: PROT increased to 0/0/0/2.5/5 from 0 at all ranks, dodge decreased to 
  • 10/15/20/20/25 from 10/15/20/25/30
Highwayman:

  • Wicked Slash: Acc increased by 10 at all ranks, crit -0.5% at all ranks.
  • (this is to make it a little more viable but still balanced)

Jester:

  • Armor: increased death blow resist to 75% from 67%.
  • (I think this class is very unique so I wanted to buff this a bit to keep that.)

  • Dirk Stab: removed move effect on use, valid usage pos changed to 1,2,3 from 1,2,3,4

Leper:

  • Armor: decreased dodge from 0+5 per rank to 0/0/5/5/10, increased PROT to
  • 0/0/2.5/5/7.5 from 0 at all ranks. decreased hp by 3 per level.

Man at Arms:

  • Armor: decreased dodge from 5+5 per rank to 5/10/15/15/20, increased PROT to
  • 0/0/0/2.5/5 from 0 at all ranks.

Vestal:

  • Armor: decreased dodge from 0+5 per rank to 0/5/10/10/15, increased PROT to 
  • 0/0/2.5/5/7.5 from 0 at all ranks.



Inventory folder:
  • Changed the following stack sizes:


  • Gold: increased to 1750 from 1500.
  • Portraits: increased to 6 from 3.
  • Busts: decreased to 4 from 6.
  • Crests: increased to 16 from 12.
  • Deeds: increased to 12 from 6.
  • All Gems: increased to 6 from 4, pewrelic and trapezohedron: increased to 3 from 1.
  • Shovels: decreased to 3 from 4.
  • Firewood: increased to 2 from 1.
  • Torch: decreased to 6 from 8.
  • Dog Treats: increased to 8 from 2. (for dog lovers)
  • (these changes are made to make upgrading a bit faster, and less of a grind)
