The night comes dark and cold
We return to our ships
With silver, slaves and gold.

WHAT IT DOES

Didn't you find it strange that Aztecs can turn defeated enemies into builder slaves, but Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Sumerians, hell, even Vikings can't? I sure did. All those historically used slaves extensively. So I proceeded to correct this historical inacuracy.

It gives everyone a military policy card that allows all ground non-ranged units to turn defeated enemy combat units into enslaved builders. Note that this does not work on Barbarians, only on units belonging to major civilizations or city states. Unfortunately that seems to be a limitation of the game engine.

It's the same ability the Aztec Eagle Warriors have, basially. Although the Aztecs still get it for free, while you have to use up a military card for it.

Also, unlike the Aztecs, it's not tied to a specific unit, but the policy becomes unavailable when you've researched serfdom. Basically at that point you stop taking new slaves, and can use serfs instead. (Also not very historically accurate, but I had to keep it from being overpowered all through the game.)

Unlike some of my other mods, I don't consider it a cheat mod. In fact I think it's as fair as it gets. Everyone can use this policy, though the AI isn't forced to use it. And the way the AI tends to be more aggressive than any player, especially towards city states, if they do slot it, they'll probably make better use of it than you will.

HOW TO GET IT

Research your mandatory first civic, at which point you start being able to slot your first policy cards into your government. You can slot the "Slavers" card right away in any military or wildcard slot, or wait until a war breaks out and slot it then. That's it.

HOW TO INSTALL IT

Open the downloaded archive, drag the SlaveryAndYou folder from the archive into your Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Mods folder.

It should auto-activate when you start the game, but of course you can still turn it on and off in Additional Content.

HOW TO UNINSTALL IT

Delete the SlaveryAndYou folder.
