AvP2 2007 Complete texture overhaul (1.1 Fixed)
Aliens vs. Predator 2 2007 (complete texture overhaul) Version 1.1 by dex909

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This mod is a graphical enhancement to the game in the way it should actually look like (my opinion of course). More movielike, less comic. Basically I wanted to change the overall looks and feel of the game to be more realistic, dark and detailed. This is a step away from the colourful comic-look and changes various things. All flags for every modified dtx texture have been checked, compared with each original dxt and set by hand in Dedit as there is no other way to retain the original settings for fullbright, sounds on impact or each detailtexture right. No bugs with textures so far.

For more screenshots and animated gifs for comparison go to my thread at:

http://forumplanet.gamespy.com/editing/b49028/7226281/p1/?58

All stuff I did, is of course freely available to everyone for further modification. Feel free to take it apart, use textures from it in your mod or the modified dll - just CREDIT me with "dex909" in your readme or whatever and you can include any of my work in your mods. I am not responsible for any stupid/senseless/cheat/garbage mods anyone creates using this, though. If you want to use the modified high res weapon skins you will still have to ask Yaji. Have fun!

I combined some textures from Yaji's High Resolution Weapons and his higher resolution Aliens as well as several graphics and sounds from AJL and did a full overhaul. I did not simply copy and paste them, though. All of Yaji's skins as well as the original game's worldtextures, skins, characters etc. have been reworked to make them look less "saturated" and less "comiclike". I used a "fake" bumpmapping effect over every texture to gain a bit more depth and basically make it appear more realistic. I did not change any things that were perfect in first place, or game mechanics like weaponstats etc. are all original. The motion tracker from AJL has been tweaked a bit (rotation was a bit rough), the HUD colours for human weapons (ammon counter digits) and the Predator energy display were changed to red to make it a bit more movielike. I tweaked some inventory-graphics from the predator to match the new (darker) weapon skins and altered some menu-graphics slightly. The saturation of the marine weapon in the loading screen has been slightly altered to look more realistic and the marine menu skin is now darker. Everything is true to the original "Aliens" and "Predator" universe. Even more movielike were the Projam skins which I also "de-comic-a-lized" but only included in my PRIVATE version of the mod, those skins are not going to be released to the public due to Projam copyrights, sorry (takes a lot of the realism away though, if they ever change their policy I'd be happy to include these).

I also edited the cshell.dll to make the colour of the light the shoulder lamp casts white/blue instead of yellow and give all the Predator vision modes a slight distortion as seen in the movies. Several attribute files have been changed to alter various things like: changing the colour and font of subtitles to appear more movie/dvd like as well as changing the colours from the ammo counter in the marine hud to red (and only the ammo counters). This change comes in a separate .rez so you can choose if you want to use it or not (or to prevent compatibility problems when playing online).

Many changes are subtle and it would take too long to explain and count everythig I did. I am finally happy with this game, as in my opinion it's now looking the way it should. But as with all texture mods, this is a matter of personal preference and taste.

Version 1.1 Changes:

--------------------

- The folder "MODELS" which was included in one rez in the initial version was removed the models there are broken (caused problems in MP) and not intended to be in the mod release.
Under the Hunter's Moon (1.0)
-------------------------------------

Under the Hunter's Moon - Version 1.0

-------------------------------------

'Under the Hunter's Moon' is a multi-level Single Player campaign based on the 20th Century Fox movie, 'Alien vs Predator' (2004) explored from the Perspective of one of the Predator initiates that enters the pyramid. The Campaign is structured to follow the events of the AvP movie up until the point where two young Predators are killed by the Alien known as 'Grid'. That event does not occur in this Campaign and an alternate narrative branches just prior to this incident.

You will be required to combat Humans and Aliens; and solve environmental obstacles and puzzles. Your goal is to complete specific Objectives in order to survive and finish the Campaign. You will then finally be acknowledged as worthy to join the the 'Brothers of the Spear' Clan as a fully fledged member of their Hunter caste.
AvP2 - 2010 Modification (1.0)
Why, hello there!

K, FBV-86 here, and this is probably my only one release for the year 2010, you'll find more information about it on the readmefile, there is no point into posting the same "description stuff" here...

Just one more reccomendation: USE WINZIP TO UNPACK THIS FILE: I am not going to help anyone who comes up crying "the file is corrupted, help me, booh-ooh, booh-ooh!" lol!

Enjoy dear AvP2 gamers!!!
Island of the Dead
This single-player campaign promises to be an eerie addition to your collection. Based on the works of the Swiss symbolist painter Arnold Bcklin, this campaign is designed for a spooky experience. The author recommends you quicksave often to avoid a surprising and gruesome demise.

BioWeapon
This is my AVP2 single player map "BioWeapon". It is a marine single player map. The map is themed around the original single player campaign for Aliens vs. Predator 2, although, the story itself is not related to the original game. I started making this map near the end of February 2005. This map is my first publicly released map.

Storyline:

_________

On a distant planet, LV 263, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation has established a mining and research facility. The planet's rich mineral deposits made it an ideal source for scientific development. However, the mineral mining facility has simply been a front for public and military eyes. In truth, the Yutani Corporation has discovered a subterranean xenomorph hive on the planet, and constructed the facility to gain access to the hive and conduct experimental research. Now, during one of the most critical experiments, the facility has suffered a power loss. Something has gone wrong. Unable to mount a timely investigation themselves, the Yutani Corporation has asked the marines to investigate the situation. So, after arriving to the planet by dropship, your marine team has set course for the mining facility via APC. Just another routine mission to restore communications at a mineral mining facility and clean up after the Yutani Corporation again.....or so you thought.

We’re looking for two mid-level to senior web developers to join our team at our new office in Exeter, UK. The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled with experience working on high traffic websites.

    The Role

Blog Piece: We're getting an office, and we're hiring

    posted by Dark0ne Feature
Hello! long time, no...boring you with my long blog pieces.

We're about to post up a news article about us looking to hire two new web programmers. Unlike our previous hire-calls, however, this one is different because it comes with the caveat that the job is based in Exeter, in the south west of England. Why? Because we're setting up an office. Our first office.

Revealing such news comes as bitter-sweet to me. For the past 15 years Nexus Mods (and the names it previously operated under) has been run from bedrooms, dorm rooms, campus computer rooms and home offices. It's been a success story up ...(continue reading the full article)

    Staff Picks - 22 Mar 2017

    posted by BlindJudge Feature
This week we're back with some more staff and community picks. I am really pleased to see a submission for a game other than those from the Bethesda series with Minqmay picking one from Legend of Grimrock. SirSalami has this week turned his attention towards a really nice armour mod, Terrorfox1234 has chosen one to help with your sometimes incredibly stupid companions and I have gone back to my childhood and chosen a mod to put posters on the walls.

We love to hear the communities picks so keep them coming by using this new and handy form.

Please fill out the form completely and ensure that yo ...(continue reading the full article)

    The Sunday Discussion - Robbie922004

    posted by BlindJudge Interviews
This week I got to chat with Robbie922004, a mod author who primarily creates mods for Skyrim, though has been known to tinker in Fallout 4. Robbie started his Steam game collection even before owning a gaming PC and began creating mods, like many, to fix things that he discovered weren't quite up to his taste in the vanilla game.

Hey Robbie and welcome to the Sunday discussion, would you mind letting our community know a little bit about you?

Thanks very much for having me. Unsurprisingly, my name is Robbie. I’m 24 years old, and I’m from Maryland in the United States, on the East Coast for ...(continue reading the full article)

Please fill out the form completely and ensure that you add some details about the mod and why you have chosen it (similar to how our community members have below).

Just remember that other mods on the site may do roughly the same thing, so keep your eyes peeled and understand that these are just personal picks. T ...(continue reading the full article)

    posted by TerrorFox1234 Feature
    Greetings everyone,

I come bearing gifts! Some of you may remember the Witanlore: Dreamtime Giveaway we ran back at the end of January. Well I’m back at it again with keys for the game Butcher, by Transhuman Design!

THD is a great group of developers and have been kind enough to grant us 10 keys to hand out. As the developers themselves describe the game:

    QUOTE
BUTCHER is a fast-paced 2D shooter and a blood-soaked love letter to the cult classics of the genre. If kicking corpses into a lava pit and adorning walls with blood is your idea of a good time, BUTCHER is THE game for you.

UX/UI Designer needed for NMM v2.0

    posted by BlindJudge Site News
Last month, we put a news post onto the site giving everyone an update as to the current state of Nexus Mod Manager version 2 and at the bottom of this news post we advertised a contract position for a UX/UI Designer. Despite receiving a number of applications, we have yet to find the individual who we believe can help us to create an intuitive, yet powerful piece of software. We are looking first and foremost at recruiting a member of our community who has the skills and abilities listed below to steer the interface design over the next few months.

This position will entail approximately 10-1 ...(continue reading the full article)

    6th March Maintenance

    posted by MrMason Site News
On Monday the 6th of March 2017 Nexus Mods will be down from 08:00 GMT so that we can perform some essential database maintenance. We expect this maintenance to take around 4 hours, but due to the nature of the work there is scope for this to be shorter or longer.

The website and the forum will be down during this time.

We’re performing this at the quietest time that we possibly can so that it has as minimal impact as possible.

    Thanks for your understanding,

    MrMason
