NMM 0.53 release and fixes
This update also enables you to select multiple mods and decide whether to install them or uninstall them, potentially saving a lot of clicking if you're doing a fresh install of hundreds of mods. Where before you would have to select each mod individually and either double-click it or press the activate button on the side, you can now select all the mods you want to install at once using standard Windows drag and drop, shift+click or ctrl+click controls.
Version 0.53.0 and the hotfix version 0.53.1 showed some performance issues for a minority of users and also lacked a progress column that accurately showed how far along the mod installation or uninstallation was for each mod in the queue. We believe we have remedied both these issues in version 0.53.2 and ask that users update to this latest version and let us know if they're getting any more issues in this regard.
Version 0.60, complete with mod profiling, is just around the corner and version 0.53 is a necessary stepping stone on the way to this release as it also has a "load backup" functionality. When/if you install version 0.60 it will automatically create a backup of your NMM directory (not its entire contents, for the hard-drive space conscious among you). If, for whatever reason, you need to revert back to version 0.53 from 0.60 this backup file can be used, by version 0.53, to quickly restore your NMM to exactly how it was. Such functionality is extremely important as version 0.60 presents a massive overhaul to the way NMM stores and processes mods. Something that is going to be a bit of a pain if you are someone who has hundreds of mods installed as all your scripted mods will need to be reinstalled and interacted with again. We didn't want people to be afraid about trying version 0.60 for fear that it might break their NMM setup, and thus, we needed to release version 0.53 for this purpose to provide a fail safe backup option for those users who are struggling with 0.60 or come across bugs that prevent NMM from working entirely.
NMM Version 0.53.2 is up now and available for download.

how to fix that? is been half year i haven't touch any skyrim and mods come back with new version i got that
Right now, whenever I click on a disabled mod, NMM hangs for 10min. Clicking on enabled mods is ok though. Activating 1 small texture mod takes another 10min. Also, NMM crashes quite alot. Usually during the activation process.
For the people who crashes after using NMM,try reloading an earlier save, then load your latest save. For me, the older saves somehow works and let the game load the newest save after that. I am quite sure this is an NMM issue since it only happen after I use NMM.
I cannot use v0.60 because spending hours to reinstall all mods is just not possible. Please, at least make this version works like the older ones.
dam just reread your post I don't know why skyrim is crashing, maybe you don't have the correct masters for some of your mods or like the other poster said it might be a mod looking for skse. sorry if I can't help you.
other then that I don't know.
We have had people who mix NMM & Workshop mods and have the workshop mods that DO show up on the plugins page automatically update - that is not NMM, but Steam doing that. The reason is that the Plugins page is not taken from the NMM folders, but from the GAME plugins folder that can be accessed by Workshop as well as NMM and LOOT and a few other programs as well. Workshop updated a mod, then the next time you open NMM, that mod will show as updated. Because they both use that same game plugins folder.
I dont know what version you mean by 'never', but I had an issue on this version at some point, where nmm would periodically download updates to mods installed with it and install them automatically. yes, I mean nmm, and not the steam client. I knew about that one too, which is why I never use the game launcher, let alone the steam workshop anymore. I'm still on this version because I havent followed updates too much, last time I had looked, it was .53 that was the beta...and it had some features I was wary of.
As for #1 and #2...i'm saying if the mod is copied to where NMM downloads mods to, I want to 'fake' un/install it, IE flag it as un/installed. NMM can look through the compressed file, right? All it'd have to do is do that, get a list of files, and install/uninstall from the game directory. it could even be an 'advanced feature' that doesn't even show up without a checkbox, but I really hope to have it some day. there are some mods that are just a hassle to clean after, and sometimes they have to be manually installed. It's worse when it's those ones with thousands of scripts. Anyhow, thank you for responding at least.
Disclaimer: if my post makes less sense, it's because I just woke up a few minutes ago and am enjoying garlic bread.
Why are you using v 0.45? We are up to V 0.53.2 ( and V 0.60.0.2a if you choose to participate in the Alpha test)
Also as for automatic mod updates, NMM Does not do that and has has never done that. It does have a feature that allows you to click to check for new mod updates, but has never forced mod updates. The check for new mod updates just flags any mod that has an update to let you know that it is available if you want it. It does not download or install anything. It is done that way on purpose.
Are you confusing NMM with Steam & Steam Workshop? Steam does force nearly daily updates to the Steam client, and autoupdate any mods subscribed through the Steam Workshop.
#1 - If you don't install through the manager the mod will still show up in the Plugins list, but NOT in the Mods list. Note that some mods cannot be installed through NMM and must be installed manually - they still show up in the plugins list because that is taken from the game plugins folder and not an NMM folder.
#2 - How is it supposed to know what was installed if it wasn't installed using the manager? The only thing it can see in that case is what is in the game list that it gets from the game and displays on the plugins list. By manually installing a mod, you bypass the part of the manager that records what was installed. It has no way to know what was installed if it wasn't done through the manager - and if it doesn't have a record of what was installed, it cannot reliably remove it because it doesn't know what to remove.
I'm wondering if a version of NMM has these 2 particular options:
1) choosing to flag something as installed, when I've manually installed it and added it to the storage folders. In some cases, I refuse to install certain mods via the manager.
2) choosing to uninstall something that hasn't been installed with the manager. IE: it goes through the package contents and removes any files from the data folder as applicable, no questions asked.
I've been using .45.6 for a while now, but it's started getting on my nerves a bit.
Also, noob question: would I be able to disable automatic updates (EDIT: And automatic mod updates)? I think I had before, but I can't remember...
Without a LOOT log - it's hard to tell where your problem may be. But my first guess is some mod that needs SKSE and can't find it.
I dont really know how to post my Loot log im gonna have to look that up later.
Seems like youre right Its not nmm after all, the crashes seem completely random It works maybe once out of five times.
Ok I hope I did it right here is my load order
